Trainings for Transformation

Since 2014, The Gaia Foundation and Siama have held a series of Trainings for Transformation. This three-year course cultivates the confidence, skill and tenacity to shift from human-centred to Earth-centred consciousness. The stunning fynbos landscape and Proteus Initiative in South Africa have been home and host for many in-person retreats. Wilderness experiences, Indigenous practices, returning to roots and eco-literacy spark personal transformation; when graduates work with communities this inspires landscape level change, so needed at this time of climate chaos, ecological collapse and social injustice.

Trained in collaboration with a range of partners and tutors from different fields, graduates go on to mentor trainees, inspired by Indigenous practices of intergenerational learning. To find out more about the Trainings for Transformation, watch Gaia’s film below and visit their website.

“The three-year training course, led by The Gaia Foundation and Siama, takes a deep dive into Earth-centred policies and practice, builds a skillset for better engaging with public and policy makers on customary laws underpinned by respect for Nature, and raises the voices of a new generation of African advocates for Earth Jurisprudence.”
